Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility
Our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives are primarily focused on enabling and supporting cultural activities, artists and NGOs through providing our expertise and infrastructure pro bono.
We strongly believe that this hands on approach is the most effective means at our disposal to provide much needed and deserved support to these activities through innovative technical solutions.
Over the past decade, we support numerous individuals and organisations, including the Valletta Grand Prix Foundation, The National Blood Transfusion Services (NBTS), The Malta Community Chest Fund (L-Istrina), Puttinu Cares Foundation, sculptor Joseph Casha and etcher Silvana Caruana.
L-Istrina
The Malta Community Chest Fund, chaired by the President of Malta, runs the yearly L-Istrina event with the aim of raise funds for those in need. Seasus proposed an innovative use of Social Media for this propose, enabling users to make donations via the Facebook platform. This unique solution of its kind at the time was designed and developed within a few weeks to be first used in the 2010 edition of L-Istrina. We are proud to say that in less than 12 hours, a staggering 4,000 users installed the app, which helped raise over €13,000. During the 2011 edition, donations tripled when €30,000 were exceeded! The surprise was even bigger on Boxing Day 2012, when the donations raised exceeded all expectations, in under 12 hours the total raised by the Facebook community exceeded €53,000. In the second edition of the MCA eBusiness Awards, this initiative won the Best Use of Social Media Award.
Valletta Grand Prix
Sport is another subject close at heart to Seasus. We strongly believe in respect and fairplay, two important values not only to sport, but to any organisation, be it a business or public activity. In 2009, Seasus teamed up with the Valletta Grand Prix Foundation as technology partner, providing a complex web portal portal and handling social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Flickr and YouTube accounts. Seasus also provided live timings together with other official partners, as well as live streaming of the races, making the event a truly international one.
