Seasus made its mark amongst tough competition at the MCA eBusiness Awards for the fifth consecutive year.

At the 5th edition of the MCA eBusiness Awards 2015, Seasus clutched the award for Best eCommerce site (B2C) through its online solution for Elmo Insurance.

The new platform for Elmo Insurance was launched in June 2015 with the aim of providing state-of-the-art ecommerce facilities to its existing and prospective clients. Through the new portal, Elmo customers can request a quotation for a wide range of insurance services, which is calculated in real-time. After a quotation is issued, customers can proceed to make an online payment for the services requested. Customers can also proceed to renew their policies on an as-is basis, or with the possibility of making amendments to such policies prior to renewal in the event that any changes have occurred to their circumstances.

Seasus was also a finalist in the best B2B application category with a ticketing platform developed for Supreme Travel's Malta Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Tours service.

Driven by Android software technology the ticketing system is an integrated platform comprising of a front-end ticket issuing application and a back-end ticket management system used by the Malta Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Tours. The platform, which replaced what was predominately a paper and manual based process, has measurably contributed to the reduction of the operational costs and human error as well as the possibility of any fraudulent activity associated with completely manual-based ticketing processes.

Available from any location at any time through portable Android based devices and blue-tooth enabled printers users of this secure and friendly interface include drivers, third-party agents, representatives and partner companies as well as the management, which can avail itself from accurate and real-time sales data at the touch of a button.

The 5th edition of the MCA's eBusiness Awards were held last night at the InterContinenal Hotel in St. Julian's. The MCA eBusiness Awards have become an important annual appointment in the calendar of ICT activities in Malta. They are an opportunity to showcase and encourage new ideas and best practices in the field of eBusiness.

In his opening address, Dr Edward Woods, Chairman at the MCA emphasized the importance of eBusiness in today's digitized global economic environment. Dr Woods further stated that whilst ensuring to remain within the limits of its remit the Authority is committed to continue rolling out initiatives that promote greater take-up of eBusiness as well as promoting higher levels of standards and professionalism across this sector.

We are naturally honoured and thrilled with this award. Such recognition to us as a development house as well as to our clients is truly appreciated. Thank you Malta Communications Authority for a fantastic evening.
