Seasus has launched a Moodle-based e-learning platform for the Institute of Tourism Studies (its.edu.mt), giving Malta's main educational institution for tourism and hospitality a single, familiar home for course content, assignments and communication across its programmes.
ITS offers courses from Foundation to Master's degree level across Culinary Arts, Tourism & Hospitality and Management, delivered on campus, online and in blended formats. A learning management system able to support that range of delivery modes, and the hands-on, practical nature of hospitality and culinary training alongside more conventional coursework, was central to the brief.
As with Seasus's other Moodle deployments, the platform was built around Moodle's own well-established functionality rather than heavy customisation: course pages organised by module, assignment submission and grading, quizzes, discussion forums, a shared calendar and messaging between students and tutors, all in one place and accessible from any device.
Seasus handled the setup, configuration and deployment of the platform for ITS, giving staff and students a proven, standards-based e-learning environment to support both classroom-based and online study across the Institute's programmes.
