Seasus has delivered BSafe@Work, a mobile app and content management system for the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA), giving the public and workers in Malta a direct way to report activities that endanger health and safety at work.
At the centre of the app is its reporting function. A user can log the date, time and location of an occurrence, attach photos or video as evidence, and choose whether to submit the report anonymously or leave contact details for OHSA to follow up. Every submission generates a unique report number, so the user has a reference to track what they reported, while the Authority receives it immediately by email for action.
Alongside reporting, the app keeps users informed through a News section for announcements and notifications from OHSA, an About page introducing the Authority and its services, and a Contact Us form for general queries, all available in both Maltese and English and built to the GOV.MT Apps Style Guide as part of Malta's Government Mobile Apps initiative.
Seasus also built the web-based CMS behind the app, letting OHSA's own staff create, publish and manage content without needing developer support. The CMS supports three distinct roles, administrators, publishers and content editors, so permissions can be matched to how each member of staff actually works, and authentication runs through Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) for OHSA's corporate accounts.
The app and its supporting services are hosted on Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) infrastructure, with Seasus providing training for OHSA staff and ongoing maintenance and support as the service continues to run.
