Seasus has delivered a web and mobile platform for the Gozo Regional Council, giving the public a direct way to report faulty street lamps and missed waste collections, and giving the Council, its Local Councils and its maintenance contractor a shared system to track and resolve them.
The project started with a full inventory of Gozo's street lamps, each one recorded with its lamp number, GPS coordinates, street name, locality and the authority responsible for it. Seasus used AI-assisted checks during this data compilation to cross-check the correctness of the gathered data, flagging, for example, GPS coordinates that didn't line up with the street name or locality recorded for the same lamp, so errors could be caught and corrected before the dataset went live rather than surfacing later as mis-routed fault reports.
From the mobile app, members of the public can report a faulty lamp (flickering, not lighting up, or a cabling fault) with a photo and location, and the request is routed automatically to the Local Council responsible for that street. Councils can approve a request into a formal report or decline it, and once approved it is assigned to the Council's maintenance contractor, who logs the repair, the components used and closes the report once the lamp is fixed, with the contractor's component stock tracked and deducted automatically as parts are used.
The same app also covers waste collection: a public schedule of what's collected each day, alerts the Council or a Local Council can push out when collection times are disrupted, and a way for residents to report a missed collection, with alert subscribers notified by SMS, email or push notification as relevant.
Every step of both workflows, from a resident's first report through to a closed job, triggers the appropriate email and SMS notifications to keep the public, the Local Councils, the Gozo Regional Council and the contractor in sync, with full filtering and CSV export available to the Council for reporting and oversight.
