An iPBX is an IP based version of a conventional Private branch exchange or PBX. As opposed to conventional hardware based PBX systems, a VOIP based system is software based and processes calls through the usage of internet based telephony (Voice-over-IP).
The caller can use a software based SIP phone (a software application installed on your computer), an Internet phone, or a normal telephone that is connected to the internet and the NetPBX server by a specific adapter for the SIP protocol (Session Initiation Protocol).

Advantages
The Seasus iPBX system is based on open source software and provides huge advantages over traditional PBX systems, such as:
- Lower hardware, software and maintenance costs
- Reduces energy use as the iPBX can run on existing servers, rather than powering additional equipment
- Free calls among remote users over the internet, which can result in tremendous cost cutting particularly for distributed companies with remote or overseas offices. Connected subscribers or users can be anywhere in the world, simply requiring a reliable internet connection for their phones for communicating with the iPBX server
- Extensive call handling, such as for the use in call centers can be customised
The system provides all the standard features expected from high-end hardware based systems at a fraction of the setup and operational costs. It also includes advanced and customisable features that are not available in any hardware based system, but also enables us to develop any custom feature requested by clients.
We can also integrate the iPBX with other products in our portfolio such as the SMS Gateway, Payment Gateway, Estate Agent Manager and the Call Centre Manager.
