Interactive Visitor Guides on Mobile Devices
New Generation guide systems for Museums, Libraries, Exhibitions or Open-Air Locations for Smartphones
The challenge for museums, tourist attractions and exhibitions of other sort today is to engage visitors who are increasingly technologically aware and consequently more demanding of the type of experience they receive. The growth in wireless and mobile communications technologies offers new opportunities for such organisations who are constantly striving to improve this visitor experience.
The
MUSES Interactive Visitor Guide is an innovative, wireless context-driven information system which is able to track visitors as they move around the exhibits, delivering multi-lingual, streaming multimedia content to their smartphone. The content can also be customised in real-time during the exhibit to fit the visitor's preferences.
Our Approach - Location Based, Context Driven Information Delivery
Location-based services (LBS) provide information and services depending on the location of the user and/or his mobile device, such as tablets or smartphones. The real-time location can be detected using technologies such as GPS, RFID tags, QR codes, bar codes or automated wi-fi or cellular network based positioning methods. The choice of positioning technology to be used depends on a variety of factors, such as type of exhibit (indoor or outdoor), type of device used, range of the exibit and accuracy required.
The Content
Our approach provides extreme flexibility and manageability of the system. The amount of content is not limited by the storage capacity of the device, thus enabling the system to include a virtually unlimited amount of video, audio, images and text in multilingual format.
Real-Time Communication with the Device
Being constantly connected to a server, the devices can communicate in real-time with the exhibition's hub. This can be used to monitor the position of each device at any time for security purposes, or every to issue emergency messages
Large Scale Automated City Guided Tours
The flexibility of the system also makes it ideal for open air, wide range digital guided tours, such as for small cities.
