Viral Marketing

When viral means good, not bad!

"Viral marketing, viral advertising, or marketing buzz are buzzwords referring to marketing techniques that use pre-existing social networks to produce increases in brand awareness or to achieve other marketing objectives (such as product sales) through self-replicating viral processes, analogous to the spread of viruses or computer viruses." In very simple terms, viral marketing is the digital equivalent of traditional word-of-mouth advertising. Just as effective, viral marketing is passed on from one person to another in a fast yet unpredictable fashion. Up to 10 years ago, we used to rely on family and friends to be recommended a good hotel or restaurant, today that same experience sharing is done online, especially since the introduction of social media in our daily lives.  
 
Finding original and interesting ways to send a message viral can be challenging yet fun. General knowledge quizzes or commonly known games can be used to send a product viral, literally world-wide. Other forms can be equally effective, from online treasure hunts to lottery-style apps, each company chooses the best format to represent its brand/s.
