Interactive Multimedia Visitor Guide

The Evolvement of Audio Guides to Interactive Apps on Mobile Devices, Streaming Location Based Content Specific Information, ideal for Museums, Libraries and Exhibitions.

The challenge for museums, tourist attrations and exhibitions of other sort today is to engage visitors who are increasingly technologically aware and consequently more demanding of the type of experience they receive. The growth in wireless and mobile communications technologies offers new opportunities for such organisations who are constantly striving to improve this visitor experience.
This Interactive Guide system is an innovative, wireless context-driven information system which is able to track visitors as they move around the exhibits, delivering multi-lingual, streaming multimedia content to their smart phone or tablet. The content can also be customised in real-time during the exhibit to fit the visitor's preferences.
Our Approach - Location Based, Context Driven Information Delivery
Location-based services (LBS) provide information and services depending on the location of the user and/or his mobile device, such as laptops, tablet computers, PDAs or smart mobile phones. The real-time location can be detected using standard technologies such as GPS, WiFi Positioning or other custom built markers. It is also possible to specify particular objects of interest using bar codes , QR codes or RFID tags which as scanned and identified from the mobile device. The choice of positioning technology to be used depends on a variety of factors, such as type of exhibit (indoor or outdoor), type of device used, range of the exibit and accuracy required.
The Content
Our approach provides extreme flexibility and manageability of the system with the possibility of storing content remotely to the device, or on the device itself depending on the scale of the content available and complexity of operations to be done on such content. This means that the amount of content is not limited by the storage capacity of the device, thus enabling the system to include a virtually unlimited amount of video, audio, images and text. System also supports for a multilingual versions of content.
Real-Time Communication with the Device
Being constantly connected to a server, the devices can communicate in real-time with the exhibition's hub. This can be used to monitor the position of each device at any time for security purposes, or every to issue emergency messages
Large Scale Automated City Guided Tours
The flexibility of the system also makes it ideal for open air, wide range digital guided tours, such as for small cities.
